Spring into the school holidays at Tauranga Pools

Don't let the kids spend two weeks hyped up on sugar, attached to their devices, fighting with each other and driving you bonkers.

We have a wide range of fun and affordable activities to get your kids active, off their screens, and out enjoying their local Tauranga pools these school holidays.

Round up their togs and towels and head to Baywave, the Mount Hot Pools, or Ōtūmoetai Pool for hours of enjoyment.

Entry prices start at $4.50 for school children.

Baywave has a very popular wave pool, as well as a great Aqua Play Station with not one, not two but three water slides, as well as water guns, a tipping water bucket and lots of water fountains for hours of enjoyment. It’s perfect for ages 3-12 years and is free with entry.

If you have older kids, the Hydro Slide is the perfect way to keep them occupied. The only thing you'll have to worry about is them wanting to go back the next day!

Ōtūmoetai Pool is perfect for all weather. This October school holidays Ōtūmoetai Pool will have a giant inflatable obstacle course up from Thursday 3 October to Saturday 5 October, from 12pm-2pm. For just $8 you will get entry to the pool, access to the inflatable obstacle course, and a FREE popsicle! As always, our Keep Me Safe pool rules apply!

At the Mount Hot Pools, we have the iconic children’s pool with a slide and fun water jets - yet another option for you and the kiddies, maybe after an ice cream and walk around the Mauao looking for seals.

Meanwhile, BaySwim is also running two amazing programmes this school holiday break.

The first is a 15-minute, one-on-one school holiday lesson to help enhance your child's swimming skills.

The second is Family Water Safety Workshops suitable for all ages. These are filling up fast, they run for 90 minutes, and are family-focused to equip you and your kids with the skills and knowledge necessary to keep you all safe in and around the water.

The workshop is $25pp and that includes entry into Baywave to stay and play all day! Perfect for a fun family day out.

Mercury Baypark is also buzzing with sporting activities these school holidays. Any child aged up to 13 can enjoy Tumble Time at Mercury Baypark Arena! For the older kids, there’ll be sports equipment, obstacle courses, and gymnastic gear set up. It’s only $6 per child, and no bookings are required.

Or, are you looking for a full-day, drop-and-run Holiday Programme? In partnership with WaiBOP and Tauranga City Basketball, Mercury Baypark Arena has sports-themed programmes that run from 9am to 3pm.

You can drop off the kids and head to work while they have some sporty fun!
